Natasha + David Cockatoo Island Engagement Photographer

I’m always humbled at the fact I get to shoot awesome couples just being themselves and having fun, it’s like hanging out and being on an adventure.  Natasha and David are no different, from our first meeting they’d told me they were both camera shy but I totally disagree, they’re both relaxed, fun to be around and totally natural.  David had the awesome idea of doing their shoot at Cockatoo Island, Natasha had never been before so she was super excited when we jumped on the ferry.

Natasha and David met online via MIRC in 1998, while living in different countries. They’d kept in touch sporadically since that time.  In 2003 Natasha’s family had planned a trip to Australia, she fought tooth and nail to get Sydney included in the itinerary.  That’s when they met (and kissed) for the first time, they spent Natasha’s last day riding the monorail for hours.  After both going through equal amounts of relationships and heartbreak, they reconnected when David called out of the blue on Valentines day in 2008.  They both talked on the phone for ages with David consoling Natasha after a break up, he managed to turn her tears into laughter.  Then and there he knew he wanted to be with her.  Natasha moved to Sydney and they’ve been together ever since.

Big congratulations on your engagement, and I can’t wait for your day xx

I love these pictures! I’m terrible with taking them and I always end up looking like some crazed mental patient. I want to say it was just David and I having fun but it was really the photographer so did all the hard work. Thanks Susan, for capturing how I feel about my man and our upcoming nuptials. You’re my photography angel and I couldn’t and wouldn’t ask for anything else 🙂
